On one hand, digitalization in the world has made our work easier. On the other hand, its disadvantages have also been seen. A survey has come out in this episode. According to this survey, most parents want all apps to be closed for children. Whenever a child downloads an app, he logs in by giving his wrong age.
Big disclosure in the survey
The survey clearly stated that if their children log in to the app by giving the wrong age, then their children's accounts should be closed. If the child creates any account, then the permission of his parents is necessary before that. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, online platforms have to confirm the age of the children and also have to obtain the consent of the parents before processing their data.
Parents are strongly against
The survey report said that some parents believe that many children give wrong details of their age while signing up for apps. Due to the lack of any verification on those platforms, they easily sign up. 88 percent of the parents surveyed supported the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) rules and said that the platforms should identify such accounts. Also, the consent of their parents should be taken. If consent is not obtained, the accounts should be closed.
So many people included
Out of a total of 21,760 parents, only 4 percent supported continuing to use the platforms without age registration. Of the remaining 22,518 parents, 58 percent suggested that internet platforms should recognize the age of children. This survey was conducted from 27 December to 23 February. In this, more than 44,000 responses were received from parents of school children from 349 districts of the country.
