To celebrate women's empowerment and safety, the Cuffe Parade Residents Association organised a bike and car rally in the morning on Sunday, March 2.
Women bikers and drivers took to the streets with banners advocating for women's safety, promoting a culture of safety and confidence among women. The event was organised to celebrate International Women's Day.
The event was flagged off from the World Trade Centre, Cuffe Parade, at 8.00am. "We believe that women's empowerment and safety are fundamental human rights," said Dr. Laura Dsouza, president of CPRA. "Through Empowered Wheels, we aim to create a community of confident and responsible women who can inspire others to demand safety and respect everywhere."
Rider Parul Nandekar added, "Together, we can create a society where women feel safe, respected, and valued everywhere."
The Western India Automobile Association and the Mumbai Traffic Police were also associated with the event.
