Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to provide marketing, designing, packaging and technical training to the youth associated with the Chief Minister's Yuva Udyam Vikas Abhiyan. Banks have been assigned the target of organizing loan distribution camps in 18 divisions and increasing the CD ratio from 67% to 70%. So far, a total loan of Rs 348 crore has been distributed to 9013 youth.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the officials to provide training to the youth associated with the Chief Minister's Yuva Udyam Vikas Abhiyan to connect them with marketing, designing, packaging and technical field.
Instructions have also been given to organize camps for loan distribution in all 18 divisions. Along with this, it has also been directed that efforts should be made to increase the CD ratio from 67% to 70% in the financial year 2025-26.
The Chief Minister reviewed the campaign
The Chief Minister reviewed the CD ratio and the Chief Minister's Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan on Saturday. During the review, the Chief Minister said that our youth have the ability to move forward with vision and innovation. In collaboration with banks, the state government is working to provide capital to the youth through this campaign.
He said that the Chief Minister's Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan was launched on 24 January 2025 to promote the potential of the youth of Uttar Pradesh, which is the state with the highest youth population in the country. Under this scheme, at least one lakh youth will be linked to self-reliance by receiving skill training in a year, which will lead to the establishment of one lakh new units in the product and service sector.
Loan facility
In the first phase of the campaign, each beneficiary is being given an interest-free loan of up to Rs 5 lakh. In the second phase, this amount will be up to Rs 10 lakh. Under this scheme, about two and a half lakh registrations have been done in a month, out of which more than 93 thousand applications have been sent to the banks. Banks have disbursed loans worth Rs 348 crore to 9013 youth.
Speed up loan disbursal: Yogi
The Chief Minister said that banks should speed up loan disbursal to the beneficiaries of the campaign. Banks should set targets for every branch in every district. Women, SC-ST and Divyang persons should also be included in this scheme.
The Chief Minister also said that today Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the best destination for investment. The MSME sector has played an important role in increasing the state's exports. He also said that employment fairs should be organized in 20 to 25 districts lagging behind in CD ratio in March-April.
Towards speeding up the work of banks
The Chief Minister said that BC Sakhi, who runs banking activities, should be ensured to get their commission on time. He said that the banking sector has made a commendable contribution to the success of Maha Kumbh. He directed that the meeting of Uttar Pradesh State Level Bankers Committee be held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary in the next two to three months and it should be held on a monthly level in the districts.
Increase in banking business
During the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed that the total banking business of the state has increased from Rs 12.80 lakh crore in March 2017 to Rs 29.67 lakh crore in December 2024. Loans worth Rs 4.05 lakh crore were disbursed by banks till March 2017, which has now increased to Rs 11.08 lakh crore in December 2024. The CD ratio has increased by 13.43 percent as compared to March 2017.
