The job market is more competitive than ever, with individuals hustling to secure employment. Amid this struggle, a tech professional has sparked a debate among job seekers by shedding light on the challenges of finding work in India and abroad.

Despite holding a master’s degree from Australia and two years of experience as a software engineer in India, the job seeker revealed his ongoing struggle to land a job.

In a Reddit post, he expressed his frustration, stating, “I’m exhausted from applying for jobs after sending out more than 250 applications."

The user continued, “Now trying to apply for a job where I have tried every possible way, LinkedIn, Naukri, Seek, Indeed, referrals, internships, just internships without any stipend, asking nominal salary, etc. everything and now I’m tired. Tired. Now I don’t need a job. I just want an interview, at least. I feel proud when people around me are successful because everybody deserves it. Not me, perhaps."

Upon being shared, the post prompted reactions from many, with one of them even asking, “What did you work on as a software engineer? It’s like saying I have been a student for 20 years of my life and don’t have a job. What did you learn and what did you work with?"

The techie replied that he worked on Mobile Application Development and cross-platform development such as Flutter and React JS. The techie continued, “I also worked on a web development project that included React JS and Node JS as a backend." He went on to talk about his skills, adding that he is also proficient in Python(NumPy, Matplotlib, etc.), Machine Learning algorithms, Tableau, and Power BI, and he is currently learning R Programming."

Meanwhile, other users also commented on the post, sharing their reactions to the same. One of them wrote, “The market is tough rn. You must grind, upskill continuously, improve your resume, and keep applying." Surprised, one of the individuals also asked, “You didn’t get a job in Australia after your Master’s degree?"

The post is going viral among Reddit users.
