A new scheme has been started by the Uttar Pradesh government to provide loans to farmers to encourage cow rearing and to promote natural farming. The Uttar Pradesh government has recently made a provision of Rs 2000 crore for this scheme during its budget session.

The government will encourage farmers to rear cows. Under this scheme, farmers will get a loan of up to Rs 10 lakh from the government through banks for rearing two to 10 cows. That too on very easy terms. There will be no need for a guarantor for a loan of up to Rs 3 lakh under the scheme.

Cow protection will be promoted.

You must have seen many cows wandering on the roads in cities or villages. Many times they also become victims of accidents on the roads. And sometimes they are treated very badly. That is why the Uttar Pradesh government has opened many cow shelters to promote cow protection. The government has made a separate provision of Rs 1001 crore for their maintenance.

The government's goal is to make all these cow shelters self-sufficient. These cow shelters of the government will work to make cow dung and cow urine economically useful. For this, the government will also run a separate skill development program. Along with this, other facilities will also be provided to cow rearers through MNREGA.
