The 26-year-old has now broken her silence following the report amid speculation she could depart, saying she was feeling isolated in Manchester as she posted a statement after the team's 2-0 win over on Sunday - in which she played the final six minutes.
"Staying in a place where we don't feel happy is an agonising and lonely feeling," she said. "Every day seems heavier, and the simple fact of being there becomes a burden. The environment, which should be welcoming, becomes a field of discomfort, where inner peace is difficult to find. When we are not in tune with what surrounds us, the around us loses its colour and energy.
"Sometimes, the desire for change arises as an urgent need, but the fear of the unknown or insecurity about the future can paralyse us. However, it is essential to remember that we deserve to be in places and situations that bring us happiness and fulfilment. That's the only way we can grow."
Geyse, who has only made six starts for United in the Women's Super League this season, is now intent on leaving the club, as her agent Luis Filipe Silva said she "needs to regain the joy of playing football".
"As you know, her brother passed away, she is going through a very difficult time, it is a very difficult time psychologically and at Man United she is not having the best time,” he told the Telegraph. “She needs to regain the joy of playing football and doesn’t have it for several reasons.
"The club has clearly shown that it does not count on Geyse, Man United tried to loan Geyse to a club in the USA, but the player has the right to decide about her future and the club she will play for. It was clear that the club and the coach don’t count on her – the pressure of being in a place where you feel you are not wanted is tremendous."
In response, United released a statement saying: "We continue to support Geyse in her wellbeing and look for options which suit all parties."
