In Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, the Energy Minister has taken major action in the case of the death of the contract employee on the power pole due to the negligence of the electricity department. The service of SSO Awadhesh Pal has been terminated. Under Engineer Karimuddinpur Ashok Kumar was suspended. Subdivision officer Dilip Sahu was also suspended. Departmental action is being taken against the Executive Engineer Electricity Distribution Block Ghazipur Nagar Ashish Kumar by charging them. Due to the negligence of the department, the contract worker died when he was working to repair the bad electricity of the village for three days on the electric pole by taking a shutdown.
The case is of Bharauli village of Karimuddinpur police station area, where electricity was not being supplied in a village for the last three days. The villagers had complained. On the complaint of the villagers, the contract lineman Devendra Rai alias Munna took a shutdown from his power house to fix the fault. Without any security equipment, he was curing electricity by climbing on the electric pole. Meanwhile, suddenly electric current was started. Due to which Devendra Rai died on the pillar on the spot. After this, the villagers created a ruckus and the body was hanging on the electric pole for several hours.
After the information of the incident, the villagers reached in large numbers and created a ruckus accusing the electricity department of negligence. At the same time, police and electricity department officials also reached the spot on the information. SDM Mohammadabad and Electricity Department officials arrived and explained to the villagers and somehow took the body down from the pillar. Sending for post mortem, family members were assured of action against the culprits.
