Los Angeles [US], March 4: At the 97th Academy Awards, rapper Doja Cat and “Born Again” co-stars Lisa and Raye gave a large homage to 007 by performing to a medley of James Bond songs. However, a number of internet users were not pleased with their behavior.

“I danced with Sarah Paulson last night and Flow is my favorite movie of all time because it’s a story about friendship,” Doja Cat said on Instagram in response to the criticism. I am grateful to Vanity Fair and the Academy Awards for hosting me. What I did was bold and frightening, and I seldom get to sing like that.”

“I feel good about pushing myself, even though I know a lot of people didn’t enjoy it. I worked so hard on the song, which is a classic, but my nerves got the better of me, and a bitch struck some flats. I am eager to repeat that experience. That was indeed a gift. The entire thing makes me feel fantastic. “Goodbye,” she wrote.

According to Deadline, the tribute, which has already generated discussion on social media about its popularity, started with a dance routine in which Margaret Qualley paid homage to Bond ladies from earlier periods while wearing a satin red outfit. This was followed by three performances: Doja Cat crooned “Diamonds Are Forever,” which was originally sung by Shirley Bassey, Lisa sang “Live And Let Die” by Paul McCartney and Wings, and Raye concluded with Adele’s “Skyfall.”

Because no one can sing Adele like Adele, Raye admitted in a separate post that she “was sooo nervous to sing this song, but I tried my very best.”

On her Instagram Story, Lisa, who is presently starring in Season 3 of The White Lotus, expressed her happiness at being “reunited at the Oscars with my Born Again sisters.”

On Sunday night, the Dolby Theatre hosted the 2025 Oscars.
