March 4, Patna Tuesday’s important State Council meeting in Patna’s Bapu Auditorium marks the beginning of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) intensified preparations for the 2018 Bihar Assembly Elections.

The official appointment of Dilip Jaiswal as the Bihar BJP state president is imminent. In order to plan for the elections, BJP leaders and employees will attend the conference.

There will likely be a number of significant choices about the party’s leadership and election campaign.

Jaiswal is anticipated to formally assume leadership later today after submitting his candidacy for the position. On Monday, he presented his nomination papers to Rajesh Verma, the BJP State General Secretary, and the Election Officer.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Legislative Councillor Sanjay Mayukh, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, and Minister Mangal Pandey were among his proposers. Interestingly, no other contenders submitted nominations, therefore his appointment was certain.

Manohar Lal Khattar, the Union Energy Minister, is the event’s principal observer. In addition to him, the meeting will be attended by Bihar BJP in-charge Vinod Tawde, co-in-charge Deepak Prakash, Bihar and central government ministers, BJP state and district presidents, block presidents, and others.

It is anticipated that more than 6,000 people will take part, including state representatives, working committee members, and divisional presidents. The BJP’s aggressive electoral preparations are evident at the State Council meeting, which comes just after the recent cabinet enlargement.

Dilip Jaiswal has long been a member of the BJP and is presently a member of the Bihar Legislative Council. On July 25, 2024, he was named the BJP state president of Bihar, succeeding Samrat Chaudhary.

Prior to the cabinet enlargement, he resigned from his position as Minister of Revenue and Land Reforms in the Nitish Kumar-led NDA administration to concentrate on party leadership.

Ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, his appointment is seen as a pivotal step by the BJP. The BJP’s campaign plan and election strategy will probably be discussed during the meeting.

The BJP is concentrating all of its attention on bolstering its presence in Bihar for the Assembly elections now that the Delhi elections are over.
