In Deendayal Kitchen, a plate of food is available to poor families for just five rupees

Bhopal. On behalf of Urban and Housing Department, a plate of food is being provided to poor families from rural areas for only five rupees in search of commercial work and employment.

The scheme launched in Madhya Pradesh on April 7, 2017, under the name of Deeen Dayal Kitchen, has been expanded in three stages. Currently 191 kitchen centers are being operated in 124 urban bodies. These include 166 permanent and 25 moving kitchen centers. So far, more than four crore people have taken advantage of this in the scheme.

Let me tell you, a grant of Rs 10 per plate is being provided by the department to the institution operating Deen Dayal Kitchen Scheme. The vehicle department equipped for 25 powered kitchen centers in the urban area has been given to the urban bodies.

Deendayal kitchen is also established in six religious cities

Kitchen centers have also been arranged in six religious cities of Maihar, Chitrakoot, Omkareshwar, Maheshwar, Orchha and Amarkantak. In 16 municipal corporations of the state, 58 permanent kitchen centers, 99 municipal councils 99 permanent kitchen centers and nine permanent kitchen centers in nine municipal councils are being operated.
