Many telecom users in India have SIM cards from both Reliance Jio and Airtel making it difficult for the users to always compare recharge plans and select the best plan for them. Let us take a closer look at Jio’s Rs 249 plan which offers the same benefits as Airtel’s Rs 299 plan but at a Rs 50 discount.
Jio Rs 249 Plan
Reliance Jio’s Rs 249 prepaid plan includes:
1 GB high-speed data per day (post-limit speed reduces to 64 kbps).
Unlimited calling on local and STD networks.
100 SMS per day.
Free access to Jio apps like Jio TV and Jio Cloud.
Validity: 28 days.
Airtel Rs 299 Plan
Airtel’s Rs 299 prepaid plan offers:
1 GB high-speed data per day (post-limit speed reduces to 64 kbps).
Unlimited calling on local and STD networks.
100 SMS per day.
Access to features like:
Spam call and SMS alerts.
One free HelloTune per month.
Validity: 28 days.
Also note that Airtel charges Rs 1 per local SMS and Rs 1.5 per STD SMS after the daily SMS limit is reached similar to Jio.
Jio VS Airtel Recharge Plan
Both plans provide the same data calling and SMS benefits. However there are additional features. Wherein Jio gives free access to apps like Jio TV and Jio Cloud whereas Airtel gives Spam call alerts and a free HelloTune.
Whether spending Rs 50 extra on Airtel for these added features is worth it depends entirely on your preferences.
However if spam call alerts or personalized HelloTunes matter to you Airtel’s Rs 299 plan could be a better fit. Ultimately the decision depends on the features you prioritize in your telecom service.
