In Tuesday’s first semi-final of the current ICC Champions Trophy, Australia’s captain Steve Smith chose to bat first after winning the toss.

Australia was rated second in Group B, just behind South Africa, while India won all three of their matches against Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand to finish first in Group A.

This is the first 50-over match between the two sides since the Men’s Cricket World Cup Final in 2023.

In their last encounter with Australia at an ICC competition, India defeated the Australians en route to winning the Men’s T20 World Cup, even though Rohit Sharma and company ended second-best in Ahmedabad that evening.

“We’ll use a bat. The surface seems to be rather dry. The men were prepared after a few workouts. It ought to be a turn. India’s very positive side. There are two modifications. After winning the toss, Steve Smith declared, “Sangha comes in for Johnson, Cooper Connolly comes in for Short.”

Rohit Sharma, captain of the Men in Blue, said that the ground in Dubai “keeps changing its nature”.
“I was ready to take on both. It’s preferable to lose the toss when you’re puzzled. The pitch’s characteristics are always changing. You must be a skilled cricket player. In all three of our cricket matches, we have performed well, and we will continue to do so.

It is going to be difficult. The same team is playing with us. We want to go on where we left off. We must bowl well and limit them to as low as we can now that we are bowling first,” Rohit Sharma said.
Groups:
