According to the Daily Mailwitnesses stated that the incident occurred during a commercial break, with Jenner choosing to remain seated and merely extending her hand for John to kiss. This behavior prompted widespread disapproval on social media, with many labeling it as disrespectful.

Beneath an Instagram video posted by People magazine capturing the moment, one user commented: “No manners.”

“Don’t shake hands sitting down,” another added.

“Not just because it’s Elton John. But out of respect and manners, you stand up when you greet someone,” another remarked.

However, some defended Jenner, suggesting that her choice of attire for the evening might have made it difficult for her to stand.

“Yall think it’s so easy for ladies in dresses like that to get up and down,” a commenter noted.

Jenner, 28, gained fame on the reality TV series “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” which ran from 2007 to 2021. She has also been successful in business, founding Kylie Cosmetics in 2014.

However, a 2020 Forbes report suggested that Kylie Cosmetics might have overvalued itself based on the Coty deal’s documentation.
