According to Star starreports from Chinese media outlets indicate that Long Li Sha—a Music Play major at the Communication University of China and known mainly for her roles in online short films—was located by police using her phone’s GPS and taken in for questioning. She claimed her phone had been returned and reactivated only after the kidnapping gang, consisting of around 10 individuals, had taken her to the station.

Denying allegations that she faked her kidnapping to gain publicity, Long Li Sha explained that she had traveled to Weinan, a city in Shaanxi, on Feb. 26 at the invitation of a film crew.

There, she said a crew member took her out for a meal before leading her to the home of an acquaintance, where she was to stay temporarily. She was told that the film crew couldn’t afford accommodation, but once they reached Xi’an, she would be placed in a proper hotel. Long Li Sha agreed to the arrangement.

However, she was later abducted, and her phone was taken. She also revealed that the kidnappers forced her to record a video in which she claimed to be safe and asked her family and friends to remove posts searching for her. These posts surfaced on social media after her contacts grew concerned about her irregular responses and unusual signs, such as turning off her camera during a video call and disabling GPS on her phone. The behavior also prompted both her family and her university to file missing person reports with the Chaoyang district police in Beijing.

After being found, Long Li Sha shared a video on social media, thanking her friends and fans for their concern. She expressed her gratitude for being reunited with her family, thanks to the help of the police.

The reported kidnapping of Long Li Sha follows previous missing person cases of actor Wang Xing and model Yang Zeqi.
