Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A cloth merchant was found mysteriously murdered at his place in the Aerodrome area on Wednesday morning and police suspect the hand of an acquaintance who stayed with him for two days and who has now gone missing in his death.

His wife was at her parent’s place at the time of the incident.

The CCTVs of the area are being examined and an investigation is underway to identify the suspect.

Aerodrome police station in charge Tarun Singh Bhati informed Free Press that the deceased has been identified as Sachin Chopra, 41 years, a resident of Kalani Nagar. His mother found him dead in his room around 11 am.

Finding her son dead, the woman took help from neighbours and later the police were informed. It was a mysterious death so the police sent his body for an autopsy. A short autopsy examination report revealed that he died of strangulation. A nail mark was also found on his neck.

Ongoing investigation revealed that Chopra was a cloth merchant in the city. His wife along with their child had gone to her parents’ place in the Patnipura area in the city a couple of days ago. A man stayed with Chopra in his room for two days. His mother was aware of the suspect but she didn’t know him.

The suspect has also disappeared from the spot so the police believe that he was involved in the murder.

However, the exact circumstances under which the incident happened will be ascertained only after his detention. The mobile phone of Chopra was also missing from the spot. The police were clueless about him till the filing of the report. The efforts are being made to identify him.

Also, a liquor bottle was recovered from the spot so it was believed that Chopra and the killer first consumed liquor after which he strangled him to death. The statements of Chopra’s mother and his wife are also being recorded by the police.
