One OBHS staffer was caught on camera throwing waste food on the tracks instead of using the dustbin placed inside the coach. Without any hesitation of his deed, he tossed off the garbage from a moving train, sparking widespread discussion on social media. Netizens widely circulated a video of the official on X and slammed his action. They demanded railway authorities to take action against him for polluting the rail tracks and engaging in inappropriate disposal of trash.
The matter was shared on X by an user named 'KantInEat'. The incident reportedly took place on 04115 train ferrying passengers from Subedarganj near Prayagraj to Mumbai.

Following an outrage, the Railways responded to the viral video and stated necessary action was taken against the officer. Railway Seva, official X handle for the support of rail users, highlighted the presence of proper garbage management system on trains and condemned the act displayed by the OBHS staff. The portal informed that a heavy penalty was imposed on the employee.
"There is a well settled mechanism for garbage disposal in our Indian Railways. OBHS staff which had violated the same, has been removed and heavy penalty has been imposed. Further, the staff is being counselled to ensure proper cleanliness of the trains and railway premises", Railway Seva posted.
Railway responds
Talking of the video, it showed the staffer opening the door of the train coach and discarding food plates and wasted meal off the moving rail. He unhesitatingly threw the garbage on the tracks.
When onlookers travelling on the coach recorded him on camera, he didn't pull stop from his actions. He continued disposing the trash outside the train. The visuals showed him picking garbage from the dustbin and throwing it outside the train.
A man questioned the staffer about the use of dustbin when he threw waste on the tracks. The officer laughingly justified his actions and said, "Raat bhar bharenge toh khaali kaha karenge (Where to empty this if it fills overnight)?". However, it is learned there is cleaning done at regular intervals when the train halts at junctions and major stations.

The video sparked outrage on X with people slamming the staffer for throwing waste on the rail tracks.
"Big proof how filth spreads. This is disgusting to see rail staff doing this", one wrote. "Take action against him. He should be fined", read another reply.
However, a few agreed with the official who claimed the dustbin was insufficient to load trash. "He is at fault, sure. But can we also talk about the amount of waste we generate ? And what's with that tiny garbage can ?", said another.
