At present, everyone's eyes are on the Champions Trophy 2025, while on the other hand the thrill of the Women's Premier League continues in India. After this, the world's largest T20 league will start, IPL. That is, the action of cricket will continue continuously and is going to make this action even more fun. Yes, soon there is going to be a ODI series between three countries, in which the Indian women's cricket team will compete with Sri Lanka and South Africa.
The WPL 2025 season will end on March 15 this month and after that the Indian team will get a break of a few days. After this break, the Indian team will make a comeback in the end of April under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur, where it will participate in this ODI series of three countries. Sri Lanka Cricket announced this series and its program on Thursday 6 March. The tournament will start from April 27 and will run for 15 days, in which a total of 7 matches will be played.
The tournament will be held in Sri Lanka's capital Colombo and all 7 matches including the final will be played at the famous R Premdasa Stadium itself. It will start on 27 April from India and host Sri Lanka. Then in the next match, on April 29, the Indian team will hit South Africa. Overall, each team will play four matches each. That is, the three teams will hit each other twice and then its finals will be played on 11 May. That is, this whole series will end within 15 days. Sri Lanka Cricket told that all these matches will be of day.
This series, which is going to be held between the three countries, has great importance because this year women have to have a ODI World Cup, which India has to host. But some matches will be played outside India, probably in Sri Lanka as India and Pakistan have refused to play each other in the country after the Champions Trophy controversy, after which the ICC has arranged for neutral venue. In this context, other teams including India will also have to land in Neutral Venue (possibly Sri Lanka) to confront Pakistan.
The Indian team played and won 2 consecutive ODI series within the last 3 months. The Indian team wiped out the West Indies 3–0 in December and then Ireland in January. At the same time, after this tri-series, the Indian team will be on a tour of England in June-July and 3 ODIs will also be played, while the T20 series will also be played.
