Over the years Bollywood has evolved significantly. From performing massy action stunts to not hesitating in intimate scenes the film industry has come a long way. Today we will talk about one such movie where a kissing scene had to be re-shot as many as 47 times. Yes you read that right! And let us tell you the film we are talking about was not made in modern Bollywood but was released in 1996. It was a time when kissing on screen was considered a big deal and here the actors had to go through 47 re-takes. Despite all the odds the movie was a huge hit and featured some of the biggest names in Bollywood. Now with the reference to the kissing scene one might think we are talking about Murder. However the film in question is none other than Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor-starrer Raja Hindustani. As the film completes 29 years lets dive into some interesting facts about it. Helmed by Dharmesh Darshan the movie was shot in various locations. While the audience loved every aspect of the film one particular scene required multiple takes—Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor’s lip-lock. The lip-lock scene between Karisma and Aamir was filmed in Ooty where the weather was extremely cold. In an interview Karisma revealed that due to the freezing cold both she and Aamir were continuously shivering. As a result the scene had to be shot 47 times to achieve perfection. The film’s storyline revolves around a love story between a taxi driver and a wealthy girl. The taxi driver falls for the girl and they eventually get married but their relationship encounters strong resistance from the girl’s mother. With an intriguing storyline the film kept the audience thoroughly engaged. As a result the movie became a hit. Made on a budget of Rs 6 crore Raja Hindustani collected Rs 78 crore at the box office which was hailed as a remarkable success.
