Indian market may be challenging for Musk: Jindal

Speaking at the Ernst and Young 'Entrepreneur of the Year' Awards, Jindal said that the Indian market could be challenging for Tesla and his CEO Alan Musk. Jindal said during a panel discussion, "Elon Musk is not here. They are in America. They cannot succeed in India! We Indians are here. They cannot do what Mahindra and Tata can do. "

Successful in India is not an easy task: Jindal

Jindal further said, "There is no doubt that he is very smart. He specializes in spacecraft and other such works. He has done a wonderful job, so I do not want to snatch anything from him. But being successful in India is not an easy task. " Jindal's comment comes at a time when Tesla is taking steps to enter India and the government is considering cuts in tariffs on imported electric vehicles. Jindal's statement also shows the ongoing changes in India's automobile sector, where companies are focusing more on electric and hybrid vehicles to suit emission norms.
