A number of people took to social media to lash out at Sky after their coverage of the Darts went down briefly.

Night five of the Premier League kicked off at 7pm from Brighton and, as usual, was covered live on Main Event and Sky Sports Darts as Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price faced off.

But fans were left raging when coverage went down for around two minutes and was replaced with a blank screen featuring the Sky Sports logo and a message apologising for the inconvenience.

Coverage was restored but went down AGAIN during Luke Littler's clash with Chris Dobey, albeit only for a few seconds.

Unfortunately for Sky, their technical difficulties led to them getting a hammering online, with one social media user posting: "Fully respect that Sky Sports Darts have got down 20 seconds into this first game tonight. State of it."

Another user said: "Sort it out Sky, we're missing the darts ffs," while another posted: "Of course Sky goes down when Darts is on."

Sky Sports' commentary team even chimed in as issues continued to occur during Littler's match with Dobey, saying: "We apologise if you are experiencing any kind of malfunction and picture break-up. It will be fixed momentarily, I assure you."

Coverage of the match continued to be hit by picture issues which spoiled a dramatic finale, with Littler eventually winning 6-5 to advance to the semi-finals.

Sky Sports host Emma Paton then attempted to apologise for the technical difficulties during the break between Luke Humphries and Rob Cross' quarter-final - only for the picture to crash and her words to freeze out.

And things went from bad to worse for frustrated fans when the difficulties spoiled Humphries' spectacular nine-dart finish in the early stages of his match with Cross.
