Agra: The parents of a 6-year-old boy were left shocked when they heard their kid mumbling "he will hit me" in his sleep, leading to a horrifying truth that they were unaware of. Their child had endured mental torture by an 8-year-old (class 2) student in his school in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. A report said the child, a KG student, told a doctor the senior schoolmate slapped him 30 times, locked him in the lavatory, asked him to lick spit and threatened to kill him as well.
The matter was reported to the police and the school administration. The KG student reportedly spoke about the torture in a video while speaking to a doctor nearly a month after 'anxiety-induced fever'. 'His parents said he refused to go to school and was not well for a month after the incident. They said multiple doctors also couldn't heal his fever.
"My son refused to go to school on March 4. He was unwell for over a month, and we didn't know the cause even after consulting 3-4 doctors in Agra and doing multiple tests. A week ago, he began mumbling in his sleep, saying, ‘He will hit me. '. During his counselling, he then started sharing his ordeal with a doctor in Agra," the child's mother said, quoted Times of India.
In the video, the child said the class 2 student first spat on his shoes and asked him to lick them. Then, he slapped the KG student 30 times. "He also threatened to strangle me...". The parents somehow managed to record the clip and reported the matter to Agra police on March 5.
Agra's assistant commissioner of police (ACP) said, "Yes, we're probing this matter. I called both sides on March 8. Further action will be initiated once we hear from them."
Meanwhile, as per TOI, the school headmistress said that she was personally handling the case. She said the victim child had been studying from nursery and had some medical issues. ".... On March 4, his parents complained to me. I constituted a panel. The bus attendant (in which both the pupils used to travel) was suspended, and we're examining the CCTV on the vehicle. The accused pupil was told not to attend school, and I summoned his parents and informed them about the allegations," she added, as per the TOI report.
The headmistress further said that a class 2 student "mentally harassed" the child, locked him in the school's lavatory, slapped him inside the bus while returning home and insulted him in front of other kids.
Responding to the charges, the father of the class 2 student said there has never been such a complaint and the incident was being "blown out of proportion".
"My son attends tuition, badminton and music classes, and we've never received a single complaint so far. There may have been an incident between pupils on the bus, but it has been blown out of proportion," he added.
Further probe is underway in the matter.
