PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana: Farmers' Wait for the 20th Installment Ends, ₹2000 to be Credited Soon – Check Expected Date
Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 19th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) on February 24, 2025. Through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), ₹22,000 crore was disbursed to 9.8 crore farmers, including 2.41 crore women beneficiaries.
Financial Assistance Under PM-KISAN
Eligible farmers receive ₹2000 every four months under this scheme, totaling ₹6000 annually in three installments.
When Will the 20th Installment Be Released?
The upcoming 20th installment is expected to be credited in June 2025. This will be the second installment of the year, followed by another in October 2025. However, the government has yet to make an official announcement regarding the exact release date.
Benefits of the PM Kisan Scheme
The financial assistance provided under this scheme helps farmers:
- Purchase high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and other agricultural inputs.
- Manage household expenses.
- Support small and marginal farmers in meeting their financial needs.
So far, approximately ₹3.5 lakh crore has been distributed in 18 installments, benefiting nearly 11 crore farmer families.
Who Is Eligible for PM-KISAN?
Farmers meeting the following criteria can avail of this scheme:
- Must be an Indian citizen.
- Should own agricultural land.
- A joint family (husband, wife, and minor children) is considered a single unit.
How to Register for PM-KISAN?
Interested farmers can apply by following these steps:
- Visit the official PM Kisan Portal – https://pmkisan.gov.in.
- Click on the 'New Farmer Registration' option.
- Provide necessary details such as name, age, gender, and category (SC/ST).
- Enter Aadhaar number, bank account details, IFSC code, and mobile number.
e-KYC Process
To receive benefits under the scheme, completing e-KYC is mandatory. This can be done in three ways:
- OTP-based KYC: Using an OTP sent to the mobile number linked with Aadhaar.
- Biometric KYC: By visiting a Common Service Center (CSC).
- Face Authentication: Available through the PM Kisan Mobile App, eliminating the need for OTP or fingerprint authentication.
