Praveen Khandelwal, National General Secretary of Confederation of All India Traders (CAT) and BJP MP from Chandni Chowk, said that like last year, traders and consumers have boycotted Chinese goods in the sale of Holi festival and the herbal colors and gulal, pitch, balloons, sandalwood, worship materials, clothes and other goods are sold in large numbers.

 

Demand for T-shirt written Happy Holi increased

Sweets, dry fruits, gift items, flowers and fruits, clothes, furnishing fabrics, grocery items, FMCG products, consumer durable items and many other products are also highly demanded in markets. Holi festival sales in various commercial areas are increasing rapidly due to increase in consumer spending. People are demanding white T-shirts, kurta-pajama and salwar suits to play with colors. At the same time, the demand for T-shirt written by Happy Holi in the market is also increasing continuously.

Business expected to exceed Rs 60,000 crore

Khandelwal said that India is a country of festivals and every festival or any religious event definitely enhances trade. Holi is expected to promote economic activities, especially the local businesses, small traders, small scale industries and MSME sector. This Holi will also prove beneficial for traders and retailers across the country. According to CAIT data, traders are expected to have a turnover of more than Rs 60,000 crore on Holi festival this year, which is about 20% more than the previous year. Last year, this business was about 50 thousand crores. According to an estimate, there is a possibility of trade of more than 8 thousand crore rupees in Delhi markets alone.

Crowds of those who buy atomizer and other Holi materials

Khandelwal said that this year too, Holi celebrations are being celebrated on a large scale in the entire country including Delhi, due to which there are long queues to celebrate Holi in banquet halls, farm houses, hotels, restaurants and public parks. More than 3,000 Holi Milan celebrations are being organized in Delhi alone and a new atmosphere of happiness and enthusiasm is visible on the faces of people participating in all the programs. A large number of business, social, cultural and religious organizations are organizing Holi Milan ceremony.

As soon as the festival of Holi comes near, all the wholesale and retail markets of Delhi are fully decorated. All the markets are crowded with gulal, atomizer as well as other Holi materials. Holi is not only a festival of colors, but it is also a festival of food and drink and delicious dishes. A large quantity of Gujhiya etc. are being sold at sweets shops, which are specially made for Holi.

Khandelwal informed that Holi will be burnt in Delhi on March 13, while the festival of colors will be celebrated on 14 March. Even the markets are adorned with the colors of Holi. Shops in the market are adorned with garlands of Gujhiya and dry fruits besides colorful roses and pitchers. The number of people coming to shop in the market is increasing day by day. He said that people gathered at shops for shopping due to the tradition of garlanding relatives with sweets to relatives on Holi. Due to which there has been a stir in the market. Herbal colors, Abir and Gulal are the highest demand instead of chemical -rich gulal and colors in the markets, while the demand for balloons and pitchers is also higher than in previous years.
