10.36 lakh savings accounts so far… Jeevika project in Bihar has become an example of women empowerment

Jeevika has become an example of women empowerment in Bihar. Today, millions of rural women are taking out of the vicious cycle of poverty by joining the Jeevika project. In Bihar, 35 lakh 89 thousand livelihoods have become self -sufficient due to self -employment associated with agriculture. So far 515 custom hiring centers are being operated by coordinating with the Agriculture Department. 5 thousand 178 agricultural enterprises have been established in the agricultural sector.

In addition to integrated chicken development in collaboration with the Department of Animal and Fisheries Resources, 8.09 lakh families have been linked to poultry and goat rearing under the Integrated Goat and Sheep Development Scheme. 1.42 lakh families are associated with milk production. About 1 thousand livelihoods are associated with fisheries. So far, 5,987 animals have been trained, who are serving 5.97 lakh families who have gone to goat farming.

Goat producing company established

The Seemanchal goat producing company has been established in Araria, which has so far added 19 thousand 956 families. With the help of National Dairy Development Board, 829 milk collection centers have been opened so far under Kaushiki Milk Producer Company established in Koshi division. So far, 26,280 cattle rearers are selling milk in these milk collection centers. And on an average, 70 thousand liters of milk is being collected daily through these centers.

So far 490 productive groups have been formed for beekeeping work. In collaboration with IIM Kolkata, the venture of 150 Didis has been developed in the field of women entrepreneurship so far.

10.36 lakh self -help groups savings accounts

Since 2006, 10.63 lakh self -help groups have been formed. More than 1 crore 35 lakh families have been added to this. Till now, savings accounts of 10.36 lakh self -help groups of Jeevika Didis have been opened. An amount of Rs 48 thousand 516 crore has been provided by various banks to self -help groups in the form of loan.

Case- 1

Lavang Kumari, a resident of Dakshin Muradpur Panchayat of Kursela Block in Katihar district, is serving as a pashkhi. With this self -employment, she earns 2 to three thousand rupees a month. Lavang is offering many important services to the goat parents of her region. Not only this, before the rainy year, 840 goats have been worked to reduce the mortality rate of goats by putting ET and TT vaccines.

Case - 2

Deepa Kumari of Dakshin Ahmedabad Panchayat of Ahmedabad block of Katihar district made herself self -sufficient after joining Jeevika. After joining the Jeevika self -help group, he opened his grocery store with a loan of 20 thousand rupees. Expanded the shop by taking a loan of 50 thousand rupees again from the group. With this, they now earn 15 thousand rupees per month.

Case 3

Meera Devi, a resident of Chiraiya village of Purnahia block of Shivhar district, has an income of 3 lakh 60 thousand from buffalo rearing and selling ax. Meera Devi, who was once struggling with economic crisis, became self -sufficient by joining Jeevika. Bought a new buffalo by taking a loan of Rs 50,000 from Jeevika Self Help Group.

This increased his income. After the financial situation was corrected, he then took a loan of 70 thousand rupees from the group and set up a plant to make soil ax. With this, they earn 25 to 30 thousand.
