Bank Holiday: Banks will remain closed for so many consecutive days on Holi! Essential work should be tackled on time

The festival of Holi is approaching, due to which banks will remain closed in many states. However, the date of closing of the bank may vary. On this occasion, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has shared information about the vacation of banks, according to the notification of RBI, the banks will be closed for four days. But there are different types of holiday in all states. If you have some work from the bank, then you should deal with it in advance so that you do not have trouble later.

Digital Service and Mobile App

Due to the closure of the bank for four days, people can face a lot of trouble, but online services such as core banking, ATM, net banking and online transactions will continue as before. If you have to do money transactions or get a check cleared, then do it before the bank is closed or else you may have trouble later. But work will continue through digital service and mobile apps.

Banks holiday for Holika Dahan on 13 March

Banks will remain closed in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand due to Holika Dalan on 13 March 2025. It happens one night before Holi.

Bank will remain closed on Holi on 14 March

On 14 March 2025, banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Orissa, Chandigarh, Sikkim, Assam, Hyderabad (AP and Telangana), Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan Jammu, Bengal, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Goa, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar.

March 15 (Saturday) - Holi/Osang's second day

Most banks will be open on March 15, 2025, as this is the third Saturday of the month. Some states like Tripura, Orissa and Manipur will remain closed on March 15, 2025.

Banks will remain closed for two days

Banks will remain closed for two days in Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand on 13 and 14 March. In other states, there may be a day holiday based on local customs.

Impact on banking services

While physical bank branches will remain closed in the affected states, online banking, UPI transactions and ATM services will continue as usual.
