The ‘Legends face-off’ in Mumbai will include football legends Figo, Puyol, Morientes, and Quaresma

Legends Faceoff, an exciting event including some of the most renowned personalities in international football, will rekindle the legendary match between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona on April 6 at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, according to a press release from The Sports Front.

Legendary football players Luis Figo, Carles Puyol, Fernando Morientes, and Ricardo Quaresma are among those announced for this much awaited matchup.

A prominent player in Portuguese football history and a 2000 Ballon d’Or winner, Luis Figo played for both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, winning many La Liga championships and the UEFA Champions League with Los Blancos in 2002.

A defensive stalwart for FC Barcelona and Spain, Carles Puyol led Barca to six La Liga championships and three UEFA Champions League medals. He was also instrumental in Spain’s victories in the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Euro 2008.

In addition to winning three UEFA Champions League championships (1998, 2000, and 2002) and playing for Spain in two FIFA World Cups (1998, 2002) and UEFA Euro 2004, Fernando Morientes was a prolific goal scorer who contributed to Real Madrid’s supremacy.

Known for his flare and inventiveness, Ricardo Quaresma was a vital member of Portugal’s team that won the UEFA Euro 2016. In addition to winning league championships in Portugal and Turkey, the former FC Barcelona and FC Porto winger also won the UEFA Europa League with Porto (2011), solidifying his status as one of the most skilled wingers in the game.
