Due to these inappropriate relations, many female wardens later became pregnant, after which they had to get abortions. After the disclosure of this case, 40 female jail officers have been dismissed from their jobs.
According to a report on the Daily Star UK website, the number of female wardens having sex with male prisoners has tripled in the last 4 years. To avoid CCTV, they used to take male prisoners to the store room and have sex with them. To avoid taking off their clothes completely, they allegedly had holes made in their pants. Most of the sex was done without using condoms, due to which many female officers became pregnant and had to have abortions.
Female officers were attracted to male prisoners
According to the report, the reasons for having relationships with male prisoners have also been interesting. In most of the cases, the female officers were attracted to the male prisoners and they willingly formed a love relationship with them. Many confessed to doing so for money. According to the report, many male prisoners offered them up to 2 thousand pounds for having physical relations, which was a huge amount. Therefore, the female officers agreed to have a relationship.
40 women jail officers sacked from their jobs
According to the Daily Star report, 180 cases of indiscipline against jail officials were reported in the last four years. Disciplinary action was taken in 73 of these cases after being found guilty. In 40 of these cases, female jail officials were dismissed from service for having illicit relations with male prisoners. During the same period, a male jail warder was dismissed for having illicit relations with a female prisoner.
Many cases of homosexual relationships also came to the fore
According to the report, in the last four years, some cases of inappropriate homosexual relations between prisoners and jail wardens were also reported, in which the wardens were dismissed after being found guilty. The dismissal of 40 female officers due to illegal relations in the last four years means that 10 officers were removed from the job every year. Whereas in the period from 2017 to 2019, this average was only three per year.
