Delhi Holi traffic alert: MP Road near Dwarka closed for airport drain work

New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory due to the closure of MP Road No. 205 near Dwarka. The road is shut for construction work on the Airport Drain extension. It will cause major traffic diversions in the area. The closure is expected to last for at least a month, leading to heavy congestion, especially during the Holi festival.

According to officials, MP Road No. 205 is completely closed from T-Point Road No. 205 and Sahabad Village Road crossing to Road No. 205 and Sector-22 Road crossing.

This Delhi road closure will impact traffic coming from:

  • Sector-21 Metro Station towards Dwarka Court, Sector-1, Sector-7, and Sector-8
  • Dwarka Court, Sector-1, Sector-7, and Sector-8 towards Sector-21 Metro Station and Kapashera
  • Sector-7 and Sector-8 towards Kapashera and Sector-21 Metro Station
Due to the closure, heavy traffic is expected on Sector-22 Road and Sector-9 Road, especially for vehicles moving between Sector-21 Metro Station, Dwarka Court, and Bagdola Village. Delhi traffic diversions and alternative routes

The Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters to follow these alternative routes:

1. For commuters from Dwarka Court (Sector-1) towards Kapashera via Road No. 205 and Sector-21 Metro Station:

  • Take a right on Road No. 205
  • Turn left onto Sector-9 Road
  • Take another left at Janki Chowk onto Sector-22 Road towards Sector-21 Metro Station and Kapashera

2. For commuters from Sector-7 & Sector-8 heading to Kapashera and Sector-21 Metro Station:

  • Use Sector-9 Road
  • Turn left onto Sector-22 Road at Janki Chowk towards Sector-21 Metro Station

3. For commuters from Kapashera and Sector-21 Metro Station going to Dwarka Court, Sector-1, 7 & 8:

  • Take Sector-22 Road
  • Turn right at Janki Chowk onto Sector-9 Road towards Sector-1, 7, and 8 Dwarka
