Uber Insurance For Cab: Due to bad roads in Mumbai, people often take so much time to travel that they miss their flight. To provide relief to passengers from such problems, a new facility has been started by Uber.

Uber Cab: The biggest problem in Mumbai city these days is travelling on broken roads. People are facing a lot of problems due to digging and bad roads everywhere. People who travel daily get angry and resort to road rage or express their displeasure on social media. The situation has become so bad that BMC has stopped the plan to dig further amidst the ongoing work on 701 km of road so that people do not face any kind of problem.

New facility started by Uber

Because of such problems, a new facility has been started by Uber. If a passenger misses a flight due to traffic or bad roads, then Uber will give him compensation up to Rs 7,500. This facility has been named ‘Missed Flight Connection Cover’. Apart from this, if the car gets into an accident on the way, Uber will also pay the doctor’s fee and other expenses for treatment.

This facility started at the end of February.

Uber has started this scheme from the end of February in collaboration with Reliance General Insurance. According to Uber sources, drivers were constantly saying that they are afraid to take a ride to the airport because it has become difficult to reach on time. This is why this scheme has been brought. Under this, insurance facility is being given by taking only Rs 3 extra.

Why are drivers worried?

Leaders of Maharashtra Rajya Rashtriya Kamgar Sangh (MRRKS) said that drivers always try to reach on time. But due to bad roads and traffic, the journey becomes longer. The time shown on the Uber app is 2-3 minutes, but in reality, it increases to 8-10 minutes. Anand Kute, the organizing secretary of MRRKS, said, ‘The waiting time at the airport has also increased a lot, so drivers avoid taking rides there.’

What to do for compensation?

Uber’s compensation will be given only if the destination is written as ‘airport’ while booking the ride. Also, the ride has to be booked 90-120 minutes in advance so that the time can be estimated correctly. For compensation, a claim form, booking number and ride information, flight ticket and airline’s no-travel / refund certificate, new flight ticket and copy of bank check (for NEFT transfer) will have to be given.

Uber officials said, ‘Ride booking and travel time should be correct while taking insurance.’ Let us tell you that due to bad roads and low earnings, drivers suddenly went on strike at the airport a day earlier on Tuesday evening. Drivers say that 25-30% commission is taken from us, on top of that the condition of the roads has further reduced the earnings. Therefore, we have stopped working from 5 pm to 9 pm.
