When we think of philanthropy and generosity the name Azim Premji immediately comes to mind. Known more for his altruism than his business work Azim Premji has set a benchmark in corporate responsibility. Today he has handed over the legacy of Wipro one of the leading IT companies globally to his son Rishad Premji.
Much like his father Rishad Premji is known for his simplicity and grounded nature. Before being appointed as Chairman Rishad served as the Chief Strategy Officer at Wipro. He has also held the position of Chairman at NASSCOM an organization representing IT companies in India during 2018-19. In 2014 the World Economic Forum recognized him as a Young Global Leader.
Rishad Premji’s Early Life
Rishad joined Wipro in 2007 after gaining extensive experience in global organizations. Prior to his tenure at Wipro he worked in London and also with GE Capital. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and has been awarded the Young Global Leader Award by the World Economic Forum.
Rishad Premji’s Family Life
In 2005 Rishad married Aditi his classmate at Harvard Business School in a simple ceremony. The couple has two children Rohan and Riya. Rishad enjoys reading and listening to music in his leisure time.

Azim Premji known for his strong values raised his children with the same principles. When Rishad was in London he once asked for permission from his father to stay at Wipro’s guesthouse. Azim Premji denied the request stating that the guesthouse was a company asset by maintaining a clear boundary between personal and corporate resources.
Azim Premji’s Early Life
Azim Premji was born on July 24 1945 and took over Wipro at the young age of 21 after his father’s passing. He transformed the company into a global IT giant. Despite the family’s comfortable financial background Azim Premji valued hard work and integrity traits that he imbued in his children.
