New Delhi: Spam calls have been strictly controlled under the new rules of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) from 1 October 2024. Telecom companies are now getting control of these calls using AI and advance technology. However, now fraudsters have started resorting to internet calls to cheat people. What are these internet calls and how to be safe from them, know in this article.

There can be a big deception through internet calls

Telecom companies are continuously adopting new measures to overcome spam calls, but now fraudsters have started hunting people through internet calls. Internet technology is used behind these calls, and scammers use VPN (virtual private network) to hide their location, making it very difficult to track these calls.

Which number should be cautious with calls from which number

According to Thailand Telecom Authority, internet calls usually come from numbers like +697 and +698. If you get a call from these numbers, they should be blocked immediately. These calls often try to get personal details from people. Once the scammers get your information, they try to cheat you more.

How to avoid fraud?

If you accidentally raise any such call, never give your personal information such as bank details or OTP. These scammers can often claim to be from government agencies or banks. In such a situation, please ask for a callback number from them and say that you will call them yourself. If they refuse to do so, understand that it is a fraud attempt.

Vigilance is safety

After all, you should avoid sharing your information online to avoid these internet calls. In particular, avoid filling information like your mobile number and email ID on any suspected website. It is very important to be cautious to avoid fraud in the technical world.
