During the 1970s and 1980s Bollywood filmmakers Kamal Ramsay Tulsi Ramsay Shyam Ramsay Ramesh Ramsay Keshu Ramsay Arun Ramsay and Gurpreet Ramsay—better known as the Ramsay Brothers—created a stir in the industry with their B-grade horror films. Movies such as Do Gaz Zameen Ke Neeche Purana Mandir Purani Haveli and Shaitani Ilaaka turned out to be cult classics. Helmed by the Ramsay Brothers one film that became a hit was the 1988 erotic supernatural horror thriller Veerana. Though the film had big names it was the lead actress who won hearts. We are talking about Jasmin Dhunna popularly known as Jasmin. Jasmin played the lead in the superhit film where her character becomes possessed by a spirit. She made her debut at the age of 13 in 1979 with Sarkari Mehmaan starring Vinod Khanna. After this she worked in two more films—the 1984 film Divorce and the 1988 horror film Veerana. The actress gained massive recognition after her supernatural film became a hit. However after this Jasmin vanished from the industry and no one knew where she went. According to multiple media reports soon after Veerana was released and Jasmin Dhunna rose to overnight fame underworld don Dawood Ibrahim became obsessed with her and began pressuring her into a romantic relationship. It is also reported that his men stalked the actress. With so much struggle in her personal life and not being able to find the right way out Jasmin completely vanished from the industry. To this day no record of the actress has been found. It has been 36 years since the actress went missing and has been living anonymously. In a 2017 interview Shyam Ramsay of the Ramsay Brothers revealed that Jasmin still resided in Mumbai and had voluntarily retired from films following her mothers passing.
