Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had posted on X last night welcoming Starlink to India and said that it would be useful for railway projects. However, he later deleted this post.

Why was there an agreement between Jio and Airtel?

Starlink has joined hands with Jio and Airtel in India. Both these companies already have a wide network in India and both companies have access to most parts of India. Both Indian companies will sell Starlink equipment in their online and offline stores. Airtel plans to integrate Starlink services into its network, while Jio can include it in the broadband system.

The price of Starlink plans is different in every country. In America, its cheapest plan costs around Rs 7,000 per month. Talking about Bhutan, the cost of this Residential Lite plan is around Rs 3,000 per month, which offers speeds of 23Mbps to 100Mbps. The price of the Standard Residential plan is around Rs 4,200, which gives a speed of 25-100Mbps. Starlink's service is the cheapest in Zambia. Here the user has to pay around 2,000 Indian rupees for a monthly subscription. In Malaysia, around Rs 3,800, in Australia around Rs 7,800 and in Austria around Rs 4,700 have to be paid. Apart from this, the cost of its installation is also different.
