Rattan Tata and Noel Tata: Ratan Tatas will was opened on October 25 2024. When Ratan Tata was making his will he neither included Noel nor left anything for him. Reportedly Ratan had doubts about Noels qualifications for leadership roles within the Tata Group. However in recent years Noel was appointed as a trustee of the Tata Trust. Ratan Tata and Noel Tata never publicly expressed their differences. Ratan appointed Cyrus Mistry as the head of the Tata Group but later Ratan had disagreements with Mistry regarding his working methods. Interestingly Cyrus was Noels brother-in-law yet Noel supported Ratan Tata. Once Noel supported Ratan. He even gave him a power of attorney to vote on his behalf. This act of solidarity allowed Noel to become one of Ratans close associates strengthening their family bonds. This support later helped Noel to be appointed as the chairman of the Tata Trust suggesting a reconciliation between the two brothers.
