The turbulence in global trade and order has only escalated in the recent days and weeks. Donald Trump has managed to kickstart a tariff or trade war with not just its geopolitical adversaries but its allies as well.

China is Ready?

As a result of the back and forth in the trading war, the American economy, and the near-invincible Uncle Sam are starting to show signs of strain. This was well exhibited in the self at the US market in the previous weeks.

Meanwhile, the Chinese, who said that they are ready for any war, appear to be taking the opportunity to bounce back from its recent economic woes and posture itself as a stable place to invest.

A reflection of this is visible in the recent performance of the Chinese stock markets. The Chinese markets have surged while the US and other Asian markets, including the Indian markets, have dipped in value.

Hang Seng Index

The Hang Seng index, based out of Hong Kong, which closed with gains of 2.12 per cent, closed with overall losses of 0.65 per cent or 156.00 points in the past five trading sessions.

This minor decline took the overall value of the index 23,959.98 points.

SSE Composite Index

A red start to the list, but the story is much merrier, as we go to mainland China, in Shanghai. The SSE Composite, one of the most important indices in China closed with gains on Friday.

Not just that, the index made gains of 1.37 per cent or 46.30 points. This pushed the value of the SSE Composite index to 3,419.56 points.

CSI 300 Index

It was not just SSE Composite, another key index, the CSI 300 index, considered by many as the equivalent of the S&P 500 index in the US also went miles ahead of its US counterpart amid uncertainty.

The index surged by 1.55 per cent or 60.98 points. This took the overall of index to 4,006.56 points in the past week.

After from the volatility in the US and the rest of the world, China has also looked to shore its own end up with another tranche of fiscal stimulus and ambitious predcition for the near future.
