Luscious hair is seen as a symbol of beauty and vitality, driving many to go to great lengths to achieve it. The demand for thicker, longer, and healthier hair has sparked a booming industry of products, treatments, and solutions as many people spare no expense to reach their hair goals.

People of all ages worry about losing their hair and many try different ways to regrow it, from home remedies to professional treatments. However, this desperation for a solution recently led to a worrying incident in Punjab.

Eye Infections Follow Hair Treatment Camp

After attending a hair treatment camp held at a temple in Punjab’s Sangrur, 67 people suffered eye infections and were admitted to a local hospital. According to a Times Of India report, the camp organisers had offered a special oil that they claimed could cure baldness.

Soon after applying the oil, many attendees experienced irritation and infections.

Police Investigation

The severity of the situation prompted police action, leading to a case being filed against the two individuals who organised the camp. Initial investigations revealed they lacked any medical certification or specialist permission to conduct such a programme.

Dr Sanjay Kamra, Sangrur’s Civil Surgeon, confirmed that the health department has launched an investigation into this serious case of negligence. Dr Kamra also emphasised that strict action will be taken against those responsible.

Health officials have urged the public to avoid similar uncertified medical camps and to always seek expert advice before pursuing any treatment or medication.
