New Delhi: Lionel Messi the star player from Argentina will be absent from the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Uruguay and Brazil because of an adductor injury. The 37-year-old was not part of the 25-player roster revealed on Monday by coach Lionel Scaloni. Lionel Messi sustained an injury while playing for Inter Miami in their victory against Atlanta United in Major League Soccer (MLS) on Sunday. The MLS team announced on Monday that Messi had an MRI performed to evaluate the severity of the discomfort in his adductor area.
