Mawra Hocane, famous Pakistani TV and film actress, recently made headlines with wedding to actor Ameer Gilani. Duo, known for on-screen chemistry in Sabaat and Neem, turned reel-life bond into real-life love story.

They had nikah in private ceremony in February, attended by close family, friends. Currently, Mawra is again sharing screen with Ameer in drama Agar Tum Sath Ho.

Recently, Mawra appeared on Something Haute’s discussion show, hosted by Amina Haider Isani, where she shared how she fell in love with Ameer Gilani and revealed he proposed through his mother.

Talking about realization of love, Mawra said, “I knew Ameer from law school. Had few interactions with him, but one I remembered most was borrowing money for water bottle before exam, which Ameer forgot. When I met him on Sabaat set, he was praying in corner, and I felt light—he had positive energy. At that time, didn’t think about marrying him, but within few days, I was sure either I wanted him or someone like him. I found peace in Ameer. He radiated positivity. I wanted to build family with someone kind, well-mannered, and from respectable background. He is wise, calm, positive—everything added up.”

Recalling Ameer’s proposal, Mawra said, “Ameer and I were great friends. He never hinted anything about marriage or feelings, but his mother told me, ‘Listen, I know Ameer. He likes you, and he will marry you.’ She was one who brought proposal to my home, and way she asked for my hand from parents was so respectful that it made all of us teary-eyed. It was special.”
