The Central University of Andhra Pradesh (CUAP), which has become a major center of higher education in Andhra Pradesh, is known for providing quality education to its students. The Central University of Andhra Pradesh was established in 2009 under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act. The university started its journey from a temporary campus in Anantapur district.

This university, which started with only a few courses in the beginning, has now developed with many departments in its permanent campus. After the division of Andhra Pradesh in 2014, 491.30 acres of land was allotted for the university near Jangamakunta village in Anantapur district.
