Premchand Aggarwal has resigned from the post of minister in Uttarakhand government. With this, the 'R-2' bungalow in Yamuna Colony has come into the limelight again. The reason for this is the myth related to it. It is said that the minister living here is not able to complete the tenure. This is just a coincidence or reality, but 'R-2' bungalow is definitely in discussion.
Let me tell you that Premchand Aggarwal resigned from the post on Sunday regarding the controversial statement of 'Pahar-Maidan'. The next day, the government bungalow 'R-2' was also vacated. This bungalow was allotted him in the year 2022. When Uttarakhand was not built and was part of Uttar Pradesh, it was constructed for the officials of the department.
After the formation of Uttarakhand, it started using as a government house of ministers. In the year 2002, 'R-2' bungalow was near Shuveer Singh Sajwan in the government led by Narayan Dutt Tiwari. He was the irrigation minister. Then the 91st constitution amendment came to keep the cabinet small. Because of this, Narayan Dutt Tiwari had to remove 5 members from the cabinet in 2004, including Sajwan.
Then in 2007, Harak Singh Rawat stayed in this bungalow. He was the Leader of Opposition. He completed his term. After this, after becoming a minister in 2012, he stayed in this bungalow but in 2016, due to the rebellion of MLAs from Harish Rawat government, the bungalow also had to say goodbye along with the post and legislature.
Similarly, the same myth regarding the Chief Minister's residence continued for a long time. It is said that the CM living here could not complete the tenure. When Vijay Bahuguna became the Chief Minister in the year 2012, he came to live here. However, in 2014, he had to step down. Perhaps for this reason, Harish Rawat, who became CM in place of Bahuguna, avoided staying in the Chief Minister's residence.
Trivendra Rawat, who became CM after the assembly elections in 2017, tried to break this myth. He reached the Chief Minister's residence but had to resign before the completion of the term. In the middle of all this, the Chief Minister's residence for the current Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami proved to be very 'auspicious'. While living here, he became the Chief Minister again.
