On one side in the country, the rumor of the arrival of an electric car like Tesla has intensified. At the same time, from Maruti Suzuki India to Hyundai Motor India, preparations have been made to introduce electric cars. Not only this, desi car companies like Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra are already making big bets in electric cars. In such a situation, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a big announcement regarding the prices of electric cars.
Nitin Gadkari says that within 6 months the price of petrol and electric cars in the country will be almost the same. When Nitin Gadkari was addressing the 32nd Conversion India and the 10th Smart Cities India Expo, he said this.
At present, the price of electric cars is much higher than petrol cars. In such a situation, despite the cost of running and maintaining electric cars, their upfront cost increases. In terms of EV adoption, the price of electric cars is also a big deal.
Nitin Gadkari says, "Within six months the price of EV will be equal to petrol vehicles." At the same time, the government is working on its option to reduce the import of the country. Therefore, work is being done to promote EV in the country so that the bill of petroleum imports can be reduced.
Apart from this, Nitin Gadkari said that the construction of 212 km long Delhi-Dehradun Expressway will be completed in the next three months. Not only this, the government is also focusing on increasing cost effective, pollution free and indigenous production so that the country's import bill can be reduced.
Nitin Gadkari said that to make India the third largest economy in the world, it is necessary to improve infrastructure. Logistic costs can be reduced by making good roads in the country. The government is also working for smart cities and smart transport. Anyway, if good roads are made in the country, then it is also beneficial for the common people. It works to improve the fuel economy of cars and other vehicles.
