Roshni Nadar Malhotra is the daughter of HCL Technologies founder Shiv Nadar. Shiv Nadar recently transferred a substantial portion of his shares in HCL Corporation to his daughter making her the largest shareholder.
Shiv Nadar gifted his 47% stake to Roshni comprising 44.17% shares through Vama Delhi and 0.17% through HCL Corporation. This move made Roshni Nadar Indias richest woman. Now her wealth ranks third in India overall after only Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani. Born in 1982 Roshni Nadar completed her schooling in Delhi before pursuing higher studies in the United States. She graduated in Communication from Northwestern University and also earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.
Beyond her role as a businesswoman Roshni is actively involved in education and environmental initiatives. Through the Shiv Nadar Foundation she leads many projects which have social impact.
