New Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah the star fast bowler for the Mumbai Indians has reportedly gone back to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to assess his recovery from a serious back injury. The Indian cricket teams leading pace bowler is preparing for the much-anticipated Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) where he is expected to wear the MI jersey again.
Bumrah made his second trip to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in a short span as he aims to secure approval to take part in the upcoming IPL 2025. The eighteenth season of the IPL is set to commence on March 22 featuring the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) competing against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the inaugural match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
According to reports from Cricbuzz Jasprit Bumrah felt some discomfort while bowling during his last visit to the National Cricket Academy (NCA). As a result NCA officials recommended certain exercises and planned a follow-up assessment of the Indian fast bowlers recovery. At present there is a more positive outlook regarding Bumrahs condition with his progress being carefully monitored at the NCA and he remains hopeful of obtaining clearance this time.
Bumrahs involvement in IPL 2025 will largely depend on his capacity to bowl without experiencing any pain. If he manages to do so he may be approved to participate. Nonetheless a definitive decision is anticipated to take about a week indicating that Bumrah will probably miss the first two matches of the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming tournament.
Mumbai Indians will need Jasprit Bumrah in their bowling lineup to ensure a successful start to their IPL 2025 season. They will kick off their campaign with a match against Chennai Super Kings on March 23 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
