In a jab at the BJP, Samajwadi Party head Akhilesh Yadav has proposed that the Uttar Pradesh government establish a new “Threat Ministry” to house its MLAs. He made these comments in reaction to recent scandals involving a Ghaziabad-based BJP MLA.

In order to accommodate BJP MLAs in Uttar Pradesh, the honorable chief minister should also establish a “Threat Ministry.” Several of his party’s competent candidates are already serving as ministers in this cabinet. But because no one else is more qualified or experienced in this particular subject than he is, he may continue in this ministry alone if he so chooses,” Yadav wrote on X on Friday.

Following a reported altercation between BJP MLA Nand Kishor Gurjar and police in Ghaziabad over a Ram “Katha yatra,” Akhilesh Yadav made his remark. Following the altercation, the MLA allegedly threatened the Commissioner and the Chief Secretary. Akhilesh Yadav called the suspension of IAS official Abhishek Prakash, involved in a fraud scandal, a “drama” and claimed that there was more corruption in the UP government in another post on X.

He recommended that “Sab Mil Bant, Kare Bantadhar” (Everyone shares, everyone destroys) be the new motto for the BJP. In Uttar Pradesh, where commissions are openly sought in the name of industrial growth, this is the reality of the “ease of doing business.” Yadav said, “A drama of suspension is staged when the matter is exposed.” He made the observation that “someone else, not the officer, is the last stop of this corruption.” In accordance with its zero-tolerance policy against corruption, the Uttar Pradesh government suspended Abhishek Prakash, an IAS officer from the 2006 batch.
