The Board of Control for Cricket in India had made many strict rules for Team India earlier this year. Some of the rules of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) implemented on the Indian team will also be seen in IPL 2025. The BCCI had already informed all the 10 teams about these rules. The effect of these rules was also seen during the training camps of all the teams. These new rules of IPL are from the travel of the players to the family members.
Strict rules like Team India in IPL
This time during the IPL, only authorized persons are allowed to go to the field and enter the dressing room. That is, no member of the family of any player can come to the field this time nor will they get entry in the dressing room. There will be no entry of families in the dressing room even on the day of practice. That is, the BCCI has tightened the rules regarding the presence of family members around the players and match officials areas (PMOA) before and during IPL matches.
All players will travel by team bus.
Players are required to use the team bus while coming for practice. That is, no player will come for practice in his car. However, teams can travel in two groups. At the same time, the family members and friends of the player can travel in a separate vehicle and can watch the team practice from the hospitality zone. Earlier, the family members of the player could travel together in the team bus.
New rules for throw-down specialist and net bowlers
This time BCCI has also changed the rules for throw-down specialists and net bowlers in IPL. All teams will have to give the list of additional support staff like throw-down specialists and net bowlers to BCCI for approval. After getting approval, non-match day accreditation will be issued. This did not happen before. Teams used to include any player in their team as a net bowler. At the same time, if the players forget to bring their accreditation card to the match venue, they will be fined. Wearing loose and sleeveless clothes is also not allowed during the presentation after the match.
