Google Messages is soon working on a new feature called "Remote Delete", which will allow users to delete accidentally sent messages for everyone. Information about this feature has come to light during an APK teardown. According to the report, this feature has been found in the beta version of the app and is likely to come in the stable version soon.
Remote Delete Feature: What is special?
This feature is similar to the "Delete for Everyone" option available in WhatsApp and Telegram. When a message is deleted, "Message deleted" will appear in its place. For this, two options Delete for Everyone and Delete for Me will be available. This feature will depend on the new update of Rich Communication Services (RCS), that is, it will work only on those devices that follow the new standards of RCS. Users who have an older version of the app will still be able to see the deleted message.
The time limit for deleting messages
This feature will be available for a limited time in Google Messages. According to the report, users will be able to delete a message for everyone within 15 minutes of sending it. After 15 minutes, this option will be disabled. This feature is currently in the development stage and has not been activated yet, although not every new feature found in APK teardown makes it to the stable version. Therefore, Google Messages users should not expect much from this update right now.
