The Jammu and Kashmir police are continuously waging a major campaign against terrorist groups and terrorist financing. Under this, the police is conducting a search operation to break the back of the terrorists and their helpers. This search was taken in the house of Bashir Ahmed Bhat son Kadir Bhat resident Bhat Mohalla Sumbal, Sajjad Ahad Nauu son Mohammad Sultan Nawu resident Nayangakhai. Both of them are suspected activists of banned organizations of suspected OGW, JKDFP and JK People's League. This case is in connection with the investigation of FIR No. 7/2024 and 62/2024 PS Sumbal.
Apart from this, Mohammad Sheikh (Gadda) son Mohiuddin Sheikh resident Bagh Bandipura and Mohammad Vaja son Qadir Vaja resident Ward 4 Plan were also searched in residential houses of Bandipura. Both these suspected OGW Tehreek-e-Hurriyat are suspected activists of banned organizations.
This case is in connection with the investigation of FIR No. 04/2024 PS Sumbal. A house was also searched in Vigpara in Case FIR No. 06/24 under UAPA. The search was taken in the presence of an executive magistrate. No objectionable item was recovered from the suspects. All the suspects have been questioned.
These cases belong to the operators of terrorist and separatist organizations sitting across the border, who are plotting a criminal conspiracy with members of the banned terrorist organizations active in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The raids were also conducted at suspicious locations of those who have created new modules of OGW to refuse terrorist and illegal activities in Jammu and Kashmir to faster terrorist and separatist organizations and to provide various types of logistics aid.
The purpose of this investigation is not only to identify the over ground workers (OGWs) that support and promote terrorism but also to eradicate the terrorist ecosystem in the Union Territory by ensuring legal action envisaged by the law of the country.
