The CBI investigating the case of Sushant Singh Rajput's death has filed a closure report in the court in two cases. The CBI has filed a closure report in Patna's Special Court, while the second closure report has been filed in a special court in Mumbai. One of these cases was filed by Sushant's father KK Singh against Riya, while the other case was filed by Sushant's girlfriend Riya Chakraborty against the actor's sisters. Now the court will decide whether it will accept this report or will order the agency to continue the investigation further.
After investigation of more than four and a half years, the CBI has filed this closure report. Officials said that on the basis of expert opinion, crime scene analysis, witnesses' statements and forces reports, the CBI admitted that there is no evidence that supports the allegation that anyone has instigated the actor for suicide. The CBI gave a clean chit to Riya Chakraborty, who was accused in the case.
Sushant Singh Rajput died in this whole case, but wreaked havoc on his girlfriend Riya Chakraborty and his family. Riya Chakraborty came to be called 'Gold Digar' since Sushant's death. Apart from Sushant's family, people on social media also made various allegations against Riya. In the media too, Riya was introduced like Villan. When the drugs angle came in the investigation, Riya Chakraborty had to go to jail.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) were also entered in this case. The ED investigated the first money laundering allegations. The ED also answered questions from the actress on 7 August. Later, in the case, NCB also questioned Riya in the angle of drugs. After this, on 8 September 2020, Riya Chakraborty was arrested by NCB on charges of giving Drugs to Sushant. Riya remained in jail for 27 days and then she got bail from Bombay High Court on 7 October 2020.
