According to reports, Muskan Rastogi, who is suspected of killing her husband with the assistance of her boyfriend, has requested assistance from the state in finding a defense attorney since her family members are “upset” with her. Since her family and relatives refused to assist her in the lawsuit, she turned to the government for assistance.

According to ANI, Senior Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma said on Saturday that the two accused are being held in separate barracks and that they are not in communication with one another. Sharma said that Rastogi informed him that her relatives had declined to support her in court. He said that in order to assign a defense attorney, the authorities would submit a plea to the court.

“I phoned Muskan yesterday because she wanted to meet up with me. Her family is furious and won’t defend her, she claimed. She will thus be given government defense counsel. Because it is the inmate’s right, we are submitting a petition to the court,” Sharma was cited by ANI as adding.

The official went on to say that both of the accused have been diagnosed with drug addiction difficulties since they have been using various types of narcotics. He said that one of the prevalent characteristics of drug abusers is their refusal to eat. Sharma said that the withdrawal symptoms of both accused are being addressed.

“We are trying to ensure that common inmates stay away from them and do not ask about their case again and again,” Sharma said. Rastogi’s father had previously said that his daughter’s actions were against humanity and called for her to be executed.

“I don’t want anything less than the death penalty for her, and the conviction in this case should be rendered quickly. ANI cited Rastogi’s father as stating, “What she did is very wrong…my son-in-law should get justice.”
