Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attends the special screening of Vicky Kaushal-starrer 'Chhaava'; praises film

Directed by Laxman Utekar, the special screening of the film ‘Chhaava’ was graced by the presence of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday evening.
The film starring Vicky Kaushal , focuses on the story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj , the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji, and his determination to defend his nation and faith.
Post the film screening, Chhattisgarh CM praised the movie, when speaking with the media, stating that the film showcased the valor and bravery of Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Shivaji Maharaj, who fought for his country, and did not betray his religion, stating it to be the ‘lesson of the whole film’.
The film’s success was also recognized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, acknowledging Maharashtra’s contribution to cinema. PM Modi said, “Aur in dino toh, Chhava ki dhoom machi hui hai”, during the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan in New Delhi. He also credited 'Chhaava' for bringing forward the legacy of Sambhaji Maharaj.
The film is doing exceptionally well at the box office , crossing the 500 crore mark in such a short time after its release, and is well-received by the audience, with many flooding praises for the film. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles alongside Vicky Kaushal.
Released on Feb 14, 2025, the film has been doing exceptionally well at the box office. It broke records right from day 1 and within a short period, it surpassed the collection of several box office giants. The film has entered into the 6th week and is inching towards the Rs. 600 crore mark domestically. It has garnered widespread recognition and appreciation for its storyline and performances.
‘Chhaava,’ highlighted the history of the Maratha empire and their ideology of swaraj. It has been well-received and applauded by the audience. Further, social media buzzed with enthusiastic praise, as many users lauded the historical drama 's visuals and production values.
